Sodium sulfide Na2S · 9 H2O sol. 2%

Operating procedure

1. Make a basic cyanotype (5 min), with 10+10s rinsing, do not dry
2. Na2S bath for 30s -> deep black (FeS)
3. Rinse for 30 seconds
4. Leave to dry for several days until it turns yellow
5. Hydrogen peroxide bath for 2 minutes -> becomes more golden

Consignes de sécurité

Na₂S can be very irritating to the skin and eyes.

Na₂S can transform into H₂S in humid environments, which can be highly toxic => work under a fume cupboard is mandatory.
