Van Dyke

The Van Dyke process is an early photographic process that appeared at the end of the 19th century (around 1889) and is attributed to the photographer and inventor John W. Van Dyke. It belongs to the family of silver halide prints. It is based on the reduction of silver nitrate by a ferrous ion, the latter coming from an iron salt.
